Mid 1970s experimental Parker T-1 rainbow titanium pen. This was a pen produced as an experiment by Parker during production of the T-1. When the metal parts of the T-1 were heated to ultra-high temperatures, it was observed that the metal started to change colour and flouresce, in a rainbow of colours which change as the pen is moved and held in different lights. The pen never made it even as far as being produced in prototype form as it was found to be impossible to guarantee colour-match between batches of super-heated parts. When found, the parts often have batch numbers to the cap and barrel and have been made up into 75s (Item # pen30)
